Transcript of an interview between Will Day and Nick McKenzie.
Here is the transcript of Nick McKenzie’s interview with Will Day of the Australian Tax Authority (ATO). He is Australia’s representative to the J5. It’s very significant that during the interview, McKenzie pretends that he does not know the name of the bank that is the target of the J5 Atlantis investigation. In fact, on page 13, McKenzie is trying to get Day to officially confirm what he already knows. But Day refuses to reveal the source, completely oblivious to the fact that McKenzie already knows. McKenzie didn’t want to let Day know that he knew, as he was protecting the source of the leak, which may well have been an employee of the ATO. To this day, the ATO has yet to conduct any investigation as to the source of the leak. It’s clear from this interview that Day did not want to disclose the identity of the target prematurely. It was still early on, and there was no guarantee the investigation would confirm their suspicions. As it turned out, the investigation came up empty. But McKenzie destroyed the bank’s reputation anyway, as he publicly disclosed the name he got from the illegal leakāthe precise outcome Will Day was trying to prevent by withholding the identity of the target.
